Whilst going through the diagnosis of Ankylosing Spondylitis, it was discovered I had a FAI on the right hip. Over the course of a few months the hip pain deteriorated but due to various complications (my AS and the fact the hips were deep seated) my consultant at the time didn’t have the confidence to operate. This is when I made the decision to see Mr Shah. From the first meeting, he was knowledgeable, emphatic towards my situation and didn’t seem phased by the complications. It was quickly decided that I couldn’t continue like I was and a total hip replacement was the only solution. Mr Shah and his team carried this out at the London Bridge Hospital in June 2021 and from start to finish his care was exemplary. This continued into the follow up appointments and 7 weeks post op he’s very pleased as am I with the outcome. In my opinion, Mr Shah is an outstanding consultant and expert in his field, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone who is suffering from any hip related problems.

Each consultation with Mr Shah has ben a positive experience. I am treated in the upmost professional manner. Takes time to explain the issues at hand, using language that is clear and pitched at my level of understanding. Also, he allows me time to ask questions, with responses that makes me feel that he understands my anxieties and concerns. I never feel rushed, but he keeps the consultation focused.

Mr Shah is a very welcoming and understanding Doctor.He is kind and extremely knowledgeable in his field and was very helpful in describing my condition and his recommendations for surgery and gave me all the information I needed on what would happen and the risks involved.I had pain in my hip for over 12 months and had trouble walking. I am glad to say post surgery I am pain free and my mobility is improving daily.I cannot thank him enough.

I spent the past two years in increasing hip pain, it took some time to get the correct diagnosis and from my first appointment with Mr Shah I knew I was in the right hands. He wasted no time in making sure I got on his surgical list, in this case on the NHS at Blackheath BMI Hospital. I was anxious about the surgery but knew the alternative was continued crippling pain, to my surprise he called me the night before to reassure me which certainly did help. The surgery was very successful and now seven weeks later I'm fully active and energetic again. The nursing staff at Blackheath were wonderful and the physiotherapists got me back on my feet right away and on the road to recovery. At all times Mr Shah has treated me with respect and truthfulness, he always listens attentively and never dismisses any of my concerns. He is also lively and has a great sense of humour and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. I honestly feel I have a new lease of life thanks to him.
